451 Group Says Mobile Office Tech Converging

NEW YORK, NY -- According to a recent report published by The 451 Group, pure play mobile office application providers are facing a shrinking opportunity.

"Other than RIM, most of the vendors currently vying for a piece of the mobile office market have discovered that making direct enterprise sales is tough to pull off," said Tony Rizzo, Director of Research.

While many vendors estimate the total worldwide market of business mobile users at 600 million, The 451 Group sees it as 1/10th, or 60 million.  Of that total, the groups estimates that only 20 million are power users of the kind that many of these companies are targeting.
